My Mitsubishi Triton trouble about SRS system with clock spring.

       My car showed SRS warning lamp. I use M.U.T.-III connect ecu for check error code. The result is problem at clock spring unit. The SRS-ECU diagnoses the following items and stores a diagnosis code in the non-volatile memory (EEPROM*1) when a problem is detected. Therefore, the memory is not deleted after a battery terminal is disconnected. (The diagnosis code memory can be deleted by the M.U.T.-III).

      If the SRS lamp still show after start engine the air bag and seat belt with pre-tensioner system will not work. So it's very dangerous when a crash.

Clock spring is??? 

     The clock spring set up between the steering column and steering wheel. And function is a special rotary electric connection between SRS ECU and air bag module. Because air bag module locate on steering wheel and it make streering wheel turn around.

     I change clock spring part at Mitsubishi service center. And I disassemble it shown with lower picture. The clock spring consist ribbon cable, connector and rotary part for keep ribbon cable.

CAUTION: SRS CLOCK SPRING PLEASE DO NOT TURN EXCEPT WHEN REQUIRED. THIS IS NOT A REPAIRABLE PART. IF DEFECTIVE, PLEASE REPLACE ENTIRE UNIT ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS. ALIGNMENT OF MODULES IS NECESSALY WHEN THEY ARE ADJUSTED AND/OR INSTALLED FOR THE ALIGNMENT PROCEDURES, FOLLOW THE SERVICE MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS.

Remark :When remove SRS system part must disconnect battery terminal before.

Step up 2 inch body for Mitsubishi L200 Triton offroad

Step easy lift up 2 inch body for Mitsubishi L200 Triton offroad.
      Today I will share method lift up 2 inch body for Mitsubishi L200 Triton with lift up body kit set high 2 inch. Those include two piece support rear spring thick 2 inch, two piece support front shock absorber thick 1 inch, spacer for ball joint upper arm and Amada Xtreme shock absorber full length 24" .

After up body 2" with Tyre Maxxis Buckshot Mudder 245/75/R16

    For front shock absorber insert support thick 1" above spring. They can lift up body to 2".  But I must front wheel alignment check and adjustment again.

    Ball joint must support by spacer thick 1" too. Because when body lift up this point will drop down.

     Rear section will add support between shaft and rear spring. The support thick 2" and change U-Bolt length 18".

    And change shock absorber full length 24" brand Amada xtreme 20 mm core.

     They can lift up body higher than standard 2" or 25.4 mm.

D.I.Y. Connect I-Pod & I-Phone with Mitsubishi
          Today i will share about add port AUX for common CD player In Mitsubishi TRITON 4x4 or L200. Normally them can play CD Audio, CD MP3 and Radio. and now we will use them play sound from Portable player like that I-Pod, I-Phone and other.

What needs to be prepared.

     1. Brass connector (3 pieces)

2. Female jack 3.5 mm with wire (1 piece)

3. Stereo Male - Male jack 3.5 mm with wire (1 Piece)

4. Electrical wire 1x1 mm (3 color about 0.5 m)

Let Start !!!
1. Removal CD Player and rear connector.

2. Connect electrical wire in brass connector. First color for signal L. Second color for signal  R. And last color for signal ground.


3. Connect electrical wire with brass connector in real connect follow picture

Connect wire signal in rear connector .

4. Connect electrical wire with female jack 3.5 mm.

5. Install CD Player into slot and press on button. Then press CD button about 5 second until AUX show on display.

6. Connect male jack into female jack and other side connect with I-Pod Or I-Phone. Joy with them!!!!

    Today i had opportunity to shop auto shopping. I found the door handle cover for mitsubishi triton. It can protect my TRITON from scratches and enhances stylish exterior. It make from plastic ABS high impact resistant in high quality chrome finish.

Product installation and price.

     For the price of the product is 350 baht per pair (about 12$).  The brand of product is dodek. No drill installation and mounts with 3M double sided tape. Just out the paper on 3M tape and install it on car.

Triton Transfer roll stopper tear.

    After trip hard offroad. Car have some symptoms from normal. The vibration during accelerate from rest. And very high vibration if i need more torque. I have checked the car's suspension system not found problem at that. And then i observed failure of the rubber of transfer mount bracket and transfer roll stopper. Because when use in offroad the part will absorb force from high torque of the gear.

     I bought the transfer roll stopper at part store in mitsubishi show room.  The price of them are 6$ per unit.

Solution for transfer roll stopper installation.

1.Tighten the transfer roll stopper provisionally.

2.Tighten the transfer roll stopper inner and outer so that the clearance (A) between them is as shown in the illustration. (44 ± 9 N·m for transfer mouth bracket, 25 ± 5 N·m for leg of transfer roll stopper) 

3.Check that the clearance (B) between the stoppers are the same picture.

Trip off road @ Pu-Toey Thailand

     From Bangkok to Suphan Buri province, it takes about 2 hours to Phu Toei National Park with 4x4 triton club. In the rainy season and is quite slippery and muddy all the way. For those who like offroad trip. All road in national park must use four-wheel drive vehicles and use transfer gear is position 4-High. Mitsubishi triton 4WD is on this journey. This makes the trip go more smoothly.

General information

     Phu-Toei National Park. As the only national park in the province of Suphan Buri, Thailand. And far from Bangkok about 200 kilo meters. Consists of the complete wet forest. The terrain has a very steep mountain. The tallest known. "Mount Angel" has an altitude of 1123 meters above sea level. Many of the watershed resources. There are two leafs pine forest.
